Manhattan School Middle/High School Expansion

Project Overview

MIDDLE/HIGH SCHOOL

A.C.E. was selected to be the MEP engineer for the new 90,000-square-foot Manhattan High/Middle School Expansion located in Manhattan, Montana. The project included a full array of standard classrooms, science classrooms, a 1,500-seat gymnasium, locker rooms, a performance platform, a commons area, and a warming kitchen. In addition, the central boiler plant was upgraded to support the new and existing areas for the school.

The HVAC system consists of a VAV air-handling system with terminal reheat. Heat is provided by a high-efficiency boiler plant with variable-speed primary system pumps. Cooling is provided in the administration and computer rooms via split air conditioning systems.

The electrical lighting was designed to meet and exceed the requirements of the IECC, including occupancy sensors and multi-level switching. Low-voltage systems (Fire Alarm, IT, etc.) were installed and upgraded throughout the facility.
